About us

Nested Insights is an independent impact and evaluation consultancy supporting organisations to generate robust evidence, strengthen learning, and make more informed strategic decisions.

Many programmes and partnerships operate in complex, fast-moving environments where conventional evaluation approaches struggle to capture what is really changing. Nested Insights was established to help organisations move beyond surface-level metrics and develop deeper, more usable insight into how outcomes are achieved and sustained.

We combine rigorous evaluation approaches with systems-informed analysis and carefully designed participatory methods. The aim is not only to produce credible evidence for funders and stakeholders, but also to support real-time learning, alignment, and better decision-making.

Our approach

Nested Insights brings together:

  • Impact and evaluation expertise grounded in theory-based evaluation, mixed-methods research, and learning-oriented MEL design. This includes supporting organisations to develop robust theories of change, design proportionate evaluation frameworks, and generate evidence that stands up to scrutiny while remaining practical and usable.

  • Systems-informed analysis to understand interdependencies, unintended effects, and where meaningful change is most likely to occur. Rather than treating programmes as isolated interventions, Nested Insights helps clients explore how outcomes emerge within wider systems, identifying leverage points, risks, and opportunities that may otherwise remain hidden.

  • Participatory approaches that involve stakeholders directly in the process, building shared understanding, strengthening buy-in, and improving the quality of insight generated. These processes are carefully designed to balance analytical rigour with practical engagement, ensuring participation adds real value rather than becoming a procedural exercise.

This integrated approach is particularly valuable in complex policy and programme contexts where linear evaluation models often struggle to capture how change actually happens.
